Summer job opportunities return to Sunrise!
WorkReady is a citywide youth development program designed to expose young professionals to real-world job experiences and opportunities.
This year, Sunrise is offering 2 WorkReady options for youth in 6th-12th grade designed to provide hands-on work experiences and career exposure.
WorkReady programs offer a variety of in-person learning sessions combined with direct job site placements at a diverse selection of community based partner organizations for older students. Students must be at least 12 years old by May 15th to enroll.
Classroom sessions will take place at local public schools while site placements will be hosted by local businesses and partner employers around the city.
WorkReady is a Paid Opportunity!
Participants in PYN’s WorkReady Summer programs can earn up to $1,300 (before taxes) depending on their program track:
Early Program | Incentive-Based (For Grades 6-8)
Intermediate Program | Wage-Based (For Grades 8-12+)
How to Enroll:
Any students or families interested in participating in either of the Sunrise WorkReady programs should create an account and fill out the general WorkReady application available at the links below! Please note - it is vital you enter the correct referral code (WRS50) to ensure your registration for the WorkReady programs at Sunrise.

Pending completion of the general WorkReady application, Sunrise will reach out with instructions on how to submit any supplementary documents needed. We will also share a secure Google folder for you to upload all forms and documents for review and approval.
In addition to online enrollment, Students will need the following documents:
Social security card
School District of Philadelphia or State ID
Work permit (if 14 years old or older)
Email address- Preferably a gmail that is not school district issued

This summer, Sunrise will offer free summer camp programs for students in K-8th grade! Join us at one of 3 program sites, Monday through Friday, for a family oriented atmosphere full of awesome activities, enrichment opportunities, recreation time and more!
Our day camp programs are perfect for any family looking to provide their children with opportunities to grow and develop over the summer. Our team of highly trained staff are on hand daily providing traditional summer camp-style-programming including recreation and games, athletics, outside time, music, literacy, arts, STEM exploration and more!
Sunrise also partners with several local community partners including the Free Library of Philadelphia, Fleisher Art Memorial, Rock to the Future, the Pennsylvania Society for Biomedical Research (PSBR), Philadelphia’s Clay Studio and more to provide dynamic and hands-on enrichment activities!

A typical day at Sunrise Summer Camp includes:

Programming from local community partners (Clay Studio, Philly Reading Coaches, Rock to the Future etc.)

Please Note - As of 4/19/2022, Sunrise Summer Camp @ Stanton School is at capacity. Any new applications for our Stanton camp will go automatically onto a waitlist in the order in which they were received. If we are able to take your child off the waitlist and enroll them, we will contact you. We encourage you to apply for our summer camp at E.B. Kirkbride, which still has spaces available!
Please Note - Due to unforeseen building closures caused by renovations to the Key School library, Sunrise’s Summer program will no longer take place at Key School. Summer camp will now take place at Eliza B. Kirkbride School located at 1501 S 7th St, Philadelphia, PA 19147.
