PYN WorkReady Programs -

Youth 6th-12th grade (must be at least 12 years old by May 15th) are invited to join us for WorkReady @ Sunrise - a paid opportunity designed to expose young professionals to real-world job experiences and career readiness curriculum. We will

offer 2 WorkReady program tracks this summer - these programs will run for 6 weeks (July - August) and will take place Monday - Friday at local Philadelphia Schools and at worksites around the city. While final locations are still subject to change, Sunrise is aiming to host these programs at Science Leadership Academy Middle School (SLAMS), Stanton Elementary, Souhwark School, and South Philly High School.

Early Program (Incentive-Based):

Based 100% in the classroom, this opportunity offers hands-on activities and learning sessions focused on exploring future career opportunities, and career pathways. Students enrolled in this program can earn cash incentive payments up to $1,000 pending completion of certain career readiness benchmarks and milestone assignments. This program is targeted to youth in 6th-8th grade.

Intermediate Program (Wage-Based):

Designed for older students, this program track combines classroom learning with direct work experience at various worksites around the city of Philadelphia. Students will spend 16 -18 hours per week at their worksites located at local area businesses and partner organizations, and receive 2-4 weekly hours of professional development. Youth are compensated at $11/hour for up to 120 hours, totaling up to $1,300 before taxes!
